Do you have experience and passion for building relationships with young people in both community and church settings? Do you have the ability to relate to young people and respond to their needs? Are you able to facilitate young people’s exploration of their values and beliefs thereby encouraging their personal, social and spiritual development?
If so, we would love to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to develop youth work in church and community settings, bridging the gap between the two and investing in the lives of young people.
Hampton is a new community within Peterborough. Currently, it comprises around 20,000 people, increasing to c.25,000 people by 2025. It has a relatively young demographic and is extremely popular with families and young adults.
The job purpose is to build relationships with young people aged 10-21 across Hampton and support them to live fulfilling lives. Alongside another Romsey Mill Youth Development Worker, you will engage in, and develop, community-based youth activities and create opportunities for young people to learn new skills, take part in enjoyable activities and thrive. You will also provide opportunities for young people within and outside of Christ the Servant King (CSK) to explore, deepen and express their faith. The expectation is that the post holder will make CSK their home church and will regularly worship at CSK.

Romsey Mill is a Cambridge-based Christian charity, started in 1980, that works with children, young people and families, many of whom are facing significant challenges in their lives.
Romsey Mill is committed to overcoming disadvantage, challenging injustice and promoting social inclusion with young people, children and families. Each year, we work with over 2,000 individuals and families, from Cambridge city and across areas of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Our work is long term, relational and needs-led. We work with participants to develop their skills and to enable their progress towards training, work and positive involvement in the community.
