St. Paul’s is an Anglican Church in the centre of St. Helier in Jersey. We are currently looking to appoint a full-time Youth and Young Adults Minister.
We are seeking a mature Christian with gifts, skills and experience and preferably qualifications in the area of church youth work, a passionate Christian leader who wants to make disciples of Jesus Christ in a church that values the ministry of all ages. The person appointed will be an enthusiastic team leader & team player, leading our existing youth team, and will be expected to work in partnership with other churches.
To oversee the ministry within the life of St. Paul’s Church among 11-18 year olds.
To work with the Youth team with the goals of:
Making disciples of Jesus Christ and equipping a younger generation to be a light for Christ
Nurturing leadership gifts and skills where appropriate
Supporting the Youth ministry at the Sunday 10.00 am service.
Supporting the Youth drop-in (The Hangout) on a Thursday afternoon 3.30 - 5.30 pm.
Supporting the Youth ministry at the 6.30pm Wednesday Evening Youth Meeting.
Supporting the Year 11+/6th form ministry every other week on a Wednesday evening 8-9
Attending and relating to Youth at the Sunday evening (7.00pm) service.
Planning and running social events for the Youth with the aim of building fellowship and enabling them to invite friends.
Enabling mentoring and/or supervision of youth where required.
Ensuring liaison between St. Paul’s Church and other Jersey churches and ministries
To support youth ministry in secondary schools.
To facilitate members of the Youth Group to attend an annual off-island residential youth event.
To lead the ministry within the life of St. Paul’s Church among 18-30 year olds. To include:
Sharing in the responsibility for the 7.00 pm service, which may include Leading and Preaching
Facilitating (in partnership with the Head of Discipleship) small groups (Bible study groups) for 18-30s
Provide social engagements for the 18-30s age range (e.g. Summer BBQ, Quiz, etc.).
