Are you a dynamic and motivated person with a heart for young people? Is God leading you to join our ministry team and support our ministry among young people (11-19+) in the Church and the local community?
You will support young people on their journey of faith and discipleship. Some of these will be in our Church youth group. But an exciting aspect of this job is to re-establish, post-pandemic, the Church's links with local schools and explore ways in which Trinity can support the faith journey of young people in our local community. Another important and stimulating area of work will be in working with the ministry team in keeping young people at the heart of the Church's life.
You will be a team player, working alongside our Pastor, Deacon, Children's and Families Worker, and some enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers.
Trinity Church is a lively inter-generational Church in a great situation on the High Street in Gosforth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. We are a local ecumenical partnership of the Methodist and United Reformed Churches. The local URC Synod has a Youth Work Advisor and a network of youth workers, who will be a source of support and development for you.
This is a 3-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal; 16-20 hours per week to be worked flexibly by arrangement with you.
Trinity is a welcoming, inclusive and inter-generational Church, broadly evangelical in outlook. We are made up of people from diverse backgrounds who want to follow Jesus: putting our faith into practice and being Good News in our local neighbourhood and wherever God leads us. Trinity’s base is our Centre on Gosforth High Street, about two miles north of the city centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. With a café and a range of different-sized rooms, we offer a wide and warm welcome to all sorts of groups and activities from the Church and the community. We operate a Men’s Shed, Toddler Groups, and many other activities for all ages. We actively support a food bank and other forms of social outreach locally.
