Could you be our new Youth Pastor? We are a local and growing estate church near Stratford, East London and have funding to offer this role for 3 days a week, initially on a 2 year contract, this could be extended dependent on funding. We're looking for someone to grow our youth work in and with our neighbourhood; we currently have a number of young people engaged in church and many relationships established and growing with young people on the estate. We are in a season of listening as a church and working with the Centre for Theology and Community to grow through community organising. So this is a great opportunity to engage in missional youth work, embedded in the neighbourhood and for those on the edges and beyond the church, listening and responding to our community.
The church is welcoming, vibrant and warm, existing without a building we hire space to meet and try to be church out in the neighbourhood. We are both sacramental and informal and you would get to play a part in ministry on Sunday mornings and the leadership of the wider church. We have a small and strong team, committed to each other and Jesus as we grow together. Specifically, there would be opportunities to lead and preach at our worship gatherings and engage in leadership in other areas as you feel called.
This role is a part time role, working 22.5 hours (3 days) per week, spread over 3 week days and Sunday (negotiable on successful appointment)
Salary is £28 000 - £35 000 FTE (depending on training and experience) paid on a pro rata basis, with pension and holiday entitlements
Use of church macbook and phone, and support with accessing theological or youth work training for the right candidate
