JOB TITLE: Interim Radio Production Manager

LOCATION: Home and London Office

HOURS OF WORK: 14 hours per week

CONTRACT: FTC, 6-12 months

REPORTING TO: Director of Content

SALARY: £35,000 pa

Premier exists to help people encounter God through media. Premier is Europe’s largest Christian Media charity.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To support the Head of Content in operational management of our main speech radio station, Premier Christian Radio.

We’re looking for a dynamic and well organised (radio) production manager to help keep us on track. You will have a keen interest in broadcast and have experience working in a media environment in a similar role. You will be responsible for organising who’s on when, keep track of promotions and planned activities (including those with commercial agreements) and working with the heads of the radio networks on managing budgets. We’re a dynamic organisation and are looking for someone who is flexible, a good problem solver and like other people!


KEY TASKS

  • Organise cover for all radio production roles and management of related budget lines in liaison with current Station Directors of PG,PP and PCR
  • Support the development and management of area budgets
  • Respond to broadcast complaints with support of heads of radio
  • Production of messaging to team (liners)
  • Helping in the creation of programme schedules
  • Creation and updating of key production documentation
  • Follow-up on sponsorship/client requests
  • Supporting any promotional (including commercial) activity across the audio/content area
  • Log production


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Journalism, radio/audio production qualification desired
  • Proven broadcast experience at management level
  • Experience in creating audio/ digital content
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Photoshop and other regularly used applications.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work and respond in demanding and fast moving environment
  • Good editorial judgment
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Broadcast Code and Libel
  • Strong organisational and forward planning skills.

Desirable (not essential)

  • Social media and/or video production
  • Presenting

PERSONAL QUALITIES

  • High level of commitment and dedication.
  • Post-holder will work in a Christian environment and will deal with Christian organisations, Christian Ministries and Christian listeners, for most of the time; therefore, it will be necessary for the post-holder to be a Christian.
