We are a modern, lively, informal fellowship of believers looking to make a difference in our community and other ministries in the UK and overseas whom we support.
The essentials of our vision is summarised in the three words, Belong, Believe and Become and our Church family is already involved in many ways of building our fellowship and reaching out to our neighbours. Many events and activities focus on these 3 aims, notably through local schools work, our community café, Foodbank, mother and toddler groups, events for the youth, seniors and our local community but there’s more to do!
We are seeking a Minister who shares our vision, can bring new directions and help us develop our life together.
The Minister must have a deep and profound knowledge for the Bible, upholding its teachings and truths, and knows how to communicate this. They will inspire with vision, challenge us and encourage us towards the new work that God has for us.
We work together in a collaborative leadership style of ministry which filters through to the Church in a loving and practical way, so that our fellowship gains greater confidence to live out the gospel in everyday life.
Salary and the remuneration package will be by negotiation.
If you require an informal conversation regarding this vacancy in advance of any application, please e mail the Elders at admin@hgbc.org.uk and we will contact you.

A lively forward looking fellowship of believers worshipping in a modern context, within the Baptist denomination. We have a congregation of approximately 300 with an increasing number of worshippers from ethnic backgrounds. Our children and youth work continues to grow whilst other groups within the Church are both outward facing in supporting our local community through the community cafe, mother and toddler groups and our Foodbank. Other activities support the needs of our fellowship from a social, spiritual and relationship perspective.
We look to proclaim the good news of Jesus across all activities of the Church and in parallel we are seeking to disciple our members and encourage them to grow in their Christian faith.
