Project Background

Canaan Project is a charity motivated by Christian ethos and values with a mission to work collaboratively with 11-19 year old girls and young women in Tower Hamlets to see them flourish, have broadened horizons and raised aspirations. We do this by providing experiences and opportunities through innovative approaches to youth work within schools and in the community.

Comfortable in their communities – young women who know the value of others and who are able to build and maintain healthy relationships

Job Overview

We are seeking a director to lead Canaan Project in to a new season of growing and strengthening our support for young women . The Director has oversight of the organisations effective running ensuring it continues to meet its aims and objectives.  This includes having oversight of all Canaan Project operations and activities, in conjunction with the Senior Young Women’s Worker, leading on the strategic development and planning of the Canaan Project. With the Trustees, the Director is responsible for the ongoing financial security of the project, fundraising and the development of all policies relating to the work including staff and volunteer management, safeguarding, and finance.

This role requires work on-site in our office in Tower Hamlets and at various locations throughout the borough although some remote working may be possible.  We are looking for the right person for the organisation and can offer a certain level of flexibility with working location and hours.  Although we are advertising for a full time position, part-time options will be considered
