Pastor

£35,000 - £42,000 yearly
Full time, Permanent Church/Ministry

Job Description

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?”                          Isaiah 43:19 NLT

Is God calling you to something new? Could that something new be here in Strathaven? As a church we’re praying for God to send us a new Pastor who will lead us into something new.  Building on the foundation of our history, current ministries, membership and gifting, we desire someone who will help us discern God’s will for a new season of church life and lead us in being faithful to his calling. We are excited about what the future of our church could look like, and we’re committed to allowing God to take us there.

We’re a church of 57 members located in the heart of a small rural town in South Lanarkshire. Over recent years the town has become a popular commuter community for Glasgow and Edinburgh, in particular for young families due to the good reputation of the local high school. Our heart is to reach out to these families and see them added to our church.

Our aspiration for the new Pastor is that they will have a warm heart for people and a deep love of God’s word. They should also have the ability to engage winsomely with people both within the church and the community across a range of contemporary theological and cultural issues. Your instincts will be for collaborative working within the established leadership team, whilst taking a lead in discipling and developing spiritual gifting.

If you think that that God may be calling you to be part of our new thing, please contact us at info@strathavenevangelical.org for an application pack - do not use the 'Apply Now' boxes.

Please note that we will only consider applications from those who have a right to work in the UK.  The employment is for the purposes of an organised religion and, having regard to the nature, context and ethos of the work, an occupational requirement applies to the position. The successful applicant will need to be a male Christian who by conviction and practice is in full agreement with SEC’s Statement of Faith and doctrinal beliefs.
