Job Description

Could you be the person who could plan strategically and oversee the work with children, young people and families in our diocese as we seek to make and grow disciples? This is a new role in a new team, which aims to help us to become 'a rejuvenating community of Jesus-centred, Kingdom-seeking disciples.'
It is part of our REVITALISE strand, that aims to help churches create pathways by which those unconnected with church can become disciples of Jesus. If you have an inspiring faith and a track record working with children, families and young people we'd like to hear from you.
 

This is a new role in a new team in the diocese, supporting us as we journey together in our vision to become a rejuvenating community of Jesus-centredKingdom-seeking disciples.

This role sits within the REVITALISE strand of our strategy aims to grow our existing churches, connecting ministries together to form a pathway that grows existing disciples and reaches people who are unconnected with church, and supports them as they journey to become committed disciples who know God and own for themselves Jesus’ mission.

We are looking for a person with an inspiring faith in Jesus Christ, with a proven track record of making and growing disciples in the children, youth and families (CYF) demographic who is committed to developing the relationship between churches, schools and homes in developing disciples of Christ. You will have the vision and managerial skills to inspire others to do likewise across our schools and parishes.

The PURPOSE of the role is to enable growth in disciples of Christ by number and depth through increased and more effective work with CYF by:

  • Strategic planning and oversight of CYF across the Diocese
  • Support of CYF in coming to faith and sharing their faith as they grow in discipleship and vocation, at home, school and church
  • Training and capacity building of existing and pipeline development of CYF leaders
  • The promotion of the highest standards of care in meeting spiritual, educational and pastoral needs of children and young people and those working with them
  • Playing their part in a newly formed and vibrant team
