Job Description

Darlington and Teesdale Methodist Circuit are seeking to appoint a passionate and experienced Youth Work professional to lead our work in re-seeding Youth Work in our Circuit. This permanent, full-time role is Circuit-wide, but locally based. The person appointed will help lead explorations of a potential Circuit-led New Places for New People (NPNP) initiative for young people within the Circuit, which we anticipate will lead to the upscaling of this area of ministry in the medium term.

We are seeking a collaborative self-starter who is able to work in strategically missional ways in order to reach and disciple young people, in enabling them to flourish in every part of their lives. Ideally, you will hold a professionally-qualifying JNC award, or equivalent, or, be willing and able to complete this within an agreed timescale.

The post-holder will have access to office space at The Well Methodist Church, 164 North Road, Darlington, DL1 2EL. However, travel across the Circuit will be required and the post-holder must have access to their own transport. Some evening and weekend work will be required. At least one day will be free from responsibility each week.

Working hours: 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Salary: (£29600-35600 per annum) (JNC 13-20) Employer matched pension contributions subject to maximum of 6% of salary. Contract: Full-time, permanent Annual leave: 33 days per annum including statutory holidays.
