Youth, Children & Family Enabler

The main vision of the work is to offer leadership and guidance to churches in the Bradford Mission and Care Group, for their ministry with children, families and young people in several different churches. The post-holder will identify opportunities to engage with children, families and young people in some areas, and will help to develop existing work in other areas. A proportion of the role involves being part of the Yorkshire Synod WILDERNESS team to deliver a central program.

The Children, Youth and Family Work Enabler is a pioneer role that is key to supporting and encouraging churches across the Bradford Mission and Care group of churches, including Bolton Villas Family Church, Pudsey URC, Westfield URC and Holme URC, to grow younger and more diverse.

For 2 days a week, the work will be based at Pudsey United Reformed Church. Pudsey URC is a church that is keen to reach out to the local community and families. Already there are strong links and friendships with a small number of young children and families who attend Sunday worship with their grandparents. We hope for opportunities to build on this ministry and offer a space for children and parents together to grow in their faith and discipleship journey.

The Children, Youth and Families Enabler(s) will be a part of The WILDERNESS Hub; the centre of ministry with young people, children and families in the Yorkshire synod. The vision of the WILDERNESS Hub is to be churches where every child and young person has the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus.
