Job Title: Children, Youth and Families Pastor
Job Purpose: To provide strategic leadership for our CYF ministry teams in order to share Jesus, disciple and integrate young people within the church and the wider local community.

Milton Baptist Church is a lively community of all ages working together to advance God’s Kingdom in the large seaside town of Weston-super-Mare. On Sundays we gather around 100 people, averaging fifteen under eighteens for contemporary spirit-filled worship and bible-based preaching to meet with God and grow in faith together.
Context
God has been challenging us to look outwards, recognising the young people in our local communities are also ‘our’ young people, because they are His young people. We recognise that God is at work, doing something new amongst us and is also stirring other local churches to reach the youth of Weston-Super-Mare. Our church is growing, with new people attending most weeks and with a new pastor now, we are excited to prioritise our CYF ministry in this next season as we seek his kingdom. Our church vision is to ‘Love God, Love each other and Love Weston’ and we do this by growing as disciples of Jesus through spending time with him, becoming like him and doing what he did. We want these concepts to run through every area of church life including our CYF ministry.
Role Profile
We are looking for someone to advocate for the young people in the church and beyond, finding creative ways to involve them more fully in the life of the church and vice versa. The role will be split fairly equally between outward and inward ministries, with plenty of scope to prayerfully help the church discern how God is leading us to reach the youth in our local community.
We are committed to supporting you to oversee and strategically develop our CYF ministries, rather than do it for us. We will not expect you to lead each CYF ministry area, we want to rely on members (and God!) for ministries to operate not just staff. You will do this by supporting and releasing our team of gifted and passionate CYF leaders and by supporting, equipping and encouraging our large base of volunteer helpers.
We also recognise the importance of your own relationship with Jesus and as part of this we are committed to ensuring you are regularly able to worship as a valued part of the church family, rather than always being out with the children or youth groups. Most importantly, we are looking to discern who God is calling to this important strategic role within our leadership team.
