Youth Worker (Part Time)

£13,500 yearly
  • Worcester Baptist Church
  • Worcester, UK
Part time Church/Ministry Youth and Children

Job Description

Are you passionate about helping young people grow in their knowledge of Jesus? Are you someone who is approachable, enthusiastic and relates well to young people? Are you someone who can create fun and engaging mission and outreach opportunities for young people to invite their friends to?

We are seeking to recruit a part-time youth worker to join us at Worcester Baptist Church, a growing, family orientated church in the centre of the beautiful city of Worcester.

You will work primarily with 11 to 18 year olds, but there will also be scope for working with those of a younger age.

You will be discipling and encouraging them as they grow in their knowledge of Jesus, alongside a team of dedicated volunteers. There will also be opportunities to build relationships with those not connected to the church through a youth club, schools work and outreach activities.

  • 18 hours per week, £13,500 per year, 25 days holidays pro rata, initial fixed term contract of 3 years

The role includes:

  • Leading our youth work on a Sunday morning, working with volunteers to develop appropriate groups for 11 – 18 year olds, ensuring they grow and deepen their faith
  • Developing and overseeing a weekly drop in cafe for the youth
  • Running a regular programme of both discipleship and social events throughout the year
  • Identifying effective ways to connect with youth beyond the church on a regular basis
  • Contributing to all-age slots on Sunday mornings and to all-age services
  • Communicating pro-actively with parents about all matters relating to youth ministry in the church
  • Helping to establish relationships with local secondary schools and identify ways to serve and contribute to them
  • Working with the ministers and the children’s team to ensure a smooth transition from children’s ministry to youth ministry and from youth ministry to the adult church
  • Networking with other local youth workers in other churches

We are looking for someone with a nationally recognised youth work qualification or equivalent qualification or experience.
