In this role as Pioneer Evangelist you will reach out with the Good News to either Children and Families or Youth across South West Ipswich.
You will be the sort of person who is prepared to take calculated risks, go the second mile and demonstrate the love of Christ in word and action to every young person or family you come into contact with. You will be active in school’s work and work with others to build on the connections made through that work in order to develop sustainable, new worshipping communities.
You will work with an experienced Lead Evangelist and together you will create a team who will be prepared to share in the work and witness of the Centre of Mission. The whole deanery of Ipswich are working together on a six-year initiative, Inspiring Ipswich, which seeks to add 1500 new disciples and 25 new worshipping communities to what God is already doing across the town. You will be part of that initiative which will provide support and prayer in addition to the support from Church Army.
This role will need someone who is capable of pioneering Christian communities among the unchurched, and with a track record of helping people to find faith in Christ. In this role, you will need to be able to work independently, as well as being able to work alongside all people and communities. Your own faith will inspire you to find new and creative ways to share the love of Jesus with others.

Church Army is a mission-focused community of people who are transforming lives and communities through the work of evangelists, staff and supporters. We are committed to sharing the Christian faith through words and action in a variety of contexts across the British Isles and Ireland.
Our vision is for everyone, everywhere to encounter God's love and be empowered to transform their communities through faith shared in words and action. Everything we do is underpinned by our values.
We find out what each community needs and share Jesus with them in their context. We love and work in close partnership with the local church; centres of mission enable and empower the local church and individuals in their own evangelism and outreach. We put our faith in to action through our commitment to positive social action and empowering others. We are achieving this through the implementation of our DARE strategy which aims to better fulfil our mission: "to see people come to a living faith in Jesus Christ".
We work in some of the most deprived communities in the UK and Ireland and work with children and teenagers, the elderly and everyone in between. We work with those who are homeless, lonely, those experiencing self-harm, who are at risk of gang or knife crime, the unemployed and those who are struggling to make ends meet. We are privileged to see first hand the difference Jesus makes in bringing positive transformation to people's lives.
Join our team to be part of that change.
