The position of Youth Outreach Enabler is a new role at Thrive and builds on the work carried out by our team of Youth Mission Enablers. This role is specifically focused around helping churches to be evangelistic and to build new, purposeful connections with secondary school aged young people in their community. A significant part of this role will be managing and overseeing the Warwick Youth Bus project, a joint project between Thrive and the Anglican churches of Warwick and Budbrooke. The Warwick Youth Bus is a double decker bus that has been repurposed for mobile youth ministry, containing the latest technology and providing a safe space for young people to gather. The bus is packed full of engaging activities from games consoles, nail bar and outdoor games to a kitchenette, board games and PCs. Pioneering role in an established youth work in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire looking to build spiritual wellbeing in schools through teaching the Big Green Heart method of forgiving to bring release from past trauma. As part of a team the Youth and Schools worker will be responsible for developing connections with secondary schools as well as nurturing christian youth in the local villages.

The main vision of the work is to offer leadership and guidance to the 8 churches in the Harrogate and Knaresborough Mission and Care Group, in their ministry with children, families and young people. The postholder will identify opportunities to engage with children, families and young people in some areas, and will help to develop existing work in other areas. The role also includes being part of the Yorkshire Synod WILDERNESS Hub team to deliver a central program for children and young people across the Yorkshire Synod of the United Reformed Church.
