United Reformed Church Mersey Synod

Mersey Synod aims to be a place where individual churches are mutually supportive of each other and thereby promote the work of making known Jesus Christ and the Gospel message in each and every locality.

The iconic river Mersey flows through the heart of our Synod and there are currently 76 churches on both the northern and southern sides of our river. Of these a small number have 100 plus members; the majority have between 60 and 30 members and we have a number of smaller churches in the Synod. Nineteen of our churches are united formally with other denominations, mainly Methodists. The ecumenical dimension has been, and continues to be, an important feature in the work of the Synod.
