THE GOSPEL CENTRE, Wightman Road, London N8 0LT:
CHURCH PROFILE
A 100-person Pentecostal fellowship; its members, from diverse ethnic backgrounds, see themselves as part of a church ‘family’ rather than an institution.
It is led by a Pastor and ten Elders (male and female). The Church Administrator, and Pastoral worker, are part-time roles.
Strengths include; A strong focus on Bible -based ministry both in the Sunday morning worship service and in periodic mid-week Bible teaching “series.”
A Worship Team with a dedicated leader, instrumentalists and singers. Also a Gospel Choir.
An active Food Bank led by a church member is well-supported by ‘”non-churched” local residents as volunteers and donors.
A variety of Pastoral support is available, and a fellowship for Senior citizens meets regularly.
The church building, (owned by the Gospel centre for over 50 years), with a main sanctuary, church hall and other meeting rooms, is very ‘visible’ on a busy road.
Areas for development would include; Evangelistic outreach which is currently spasmodic, and Youth Work, which has been difficult to relaunch since the Covid pandemic.
