An exciting opportunity has arisen as a Mentor at Track Academy. Track Academy is an Education, Mentoring and Sports charity that uses sports as a tool to engage with young people and embed life skills into their lives. Track Academy is looking for a mentor who can help our student-athletes and help impact their behaviour by supporting and advising them wherever the need presents itself.
Part-Time (Tuesday and Thursday: 4 pm till 6.30 pm and Saturdays: 10 am till 12.30 pm)

Track Academy is an education, mentoring and sports charity which focuses on life skills and improving the lives of young people through sports. It is made up of former international athletes, coaches, mentors, teachers, business professionals and passionate volunteers.
At Track Academy we share a common belief, that sports and education are a match made to empower and change young people's lives.
The successful candidate has a passion for mentoring and building relationships with children and young people. They are highly motivated people who work towards bringing changes and helping people in the borough of Brent to be more than the circumstance they are born into.
The role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible to engage with children and young people and help identify patterns of behaviour. As a mentor, your role is to guide them and help young people reach their full potential. You listen and help young people find solutions to their problems.
As a mentor, you maintain the privacy and confidentiality of each individual and update the education and mentoring department directly to support any positive behaviour changes. You will use your safeguarding knowledge at all moments of your role. You plan, asset, prioritize, review goals and take action plans when you are doing your one-to-one mentoring session.
You will work closely with the Education and Mentoring Coordinator to ensure that you achieve sustainable outcomes and have a positive impact on our student-athletes. Keeping track of young people’s growth and helping file administration of your sessions will be an essential part of your role. Mentors are expected to build relationships with the parents and answer any queries they may have. You will be working alongside coaches and tutors who will help identify which student-athletes need mentoring and further assistance..

Personal Specification
Qualifications
Essential - At least 5 GCSEs grades A-C (Including Maths and English language)
Essential - At least 3 A levels or level 3 equivalents (BTECs, NVQ, National Diploma)
Desirable - Graduate/undergraduate
Desirable - QTS or other relevant teaching qualification
