The Transition and Social Media Enabler will initiate and lead a ‘Children and Youth Transitions Outreach’ programme, connected with New Worshipping Communities (NWCs) in the Encounter project, in collaboration with local parishes and schools and the Resource Church at All Saints Hanley, supporting all the Encounter satellites in using social media as a tool for mission and discipleship. They will oversee a part of the children and youth work, both in schools and NWCs, that focuses on the transitional years between primary and secondary education enabling the young people to continue their faith journey. Developing the ministry at Gorsley Baptist Church (GBC) for the 11- early 20s and supporting the transition from Children’s work into and youth, working with the children’s worker. Working with an established volunteer team, families, community groups, and engaging in a variety of events. Building connections with the youth and their parent/carers. Currently we run two groups on a Sunday across 11-18’s, one of the groups helping transition those in the youth group into main services and serving on teams.
