The main vision of the work is to offer leadership and guidance to the 8 churches in the Harrogate and Knaresborough Mission and Care Group, in their ministry with children, families and young people. The postholder will identify opportunities to engage with children, families and young people in some areas, and will help to develop existing work in other areas. The role also includes being part of the Yorkshire Synod WILDERNESS Hub team to deliver a central program for children and young people across the Yorkshire Synod of the United Reformed Church. The vision of the WILDERNESS Hub is to enable churches to be churches where every child and young person has the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus.  These new posts have been created to enable more holistic support for churches who are working hard to engage with children and young people in their local communities. 

An exciting opportunity for someone passionate about helping children to discover God’s love for them.   We are a lively and family-friendly church with great teams that help run Messy Church, Play Café, Holiday club and much more. The successful applicant will work with children 0-11 years in our church and local schools, building on established children’s and families’ work and developing closer links in the community. You will be part of a supportive staff team who encourage each other and will manage and lead teams of committed volunteers. Training can be provided.
