St Andrew's Church was consecrated in 1854 and is a significant community and heritage asset.

Situated in a highly diverse part of Islington, the church is a vital anchor point for the local community – a place of hope, safety and care, open to all, that enables people of all ages and backgrounds to come together to reflect, connect, and deliver social good. Our recent community survey saw local people describe St. Andrew’s as a ‘haven’, ‘shelter’, ‘family’ and ‘home’.

Through a range of initiatives, each year we welcome over 15,000 people to the church and engage a further 3,000 online and offsite. We have a particular focus on children, young people and families, with programmes including a weekly ‘stay and play’ for under 5s, an active youth group, and regular clothes and toy swaps. We work to support marginalised people responsively, such as through a food store for people who call in for help.  We also have regular clothing and toy swaps which are very well received.

Families’ and Children’s Worker (21 hours per week, £33-36k pro rata)  Come and join our growing team at an exciting time for mission and ministry. Families and children are already central to life at St Andrew’s. Come to nurture an existing community and help to grow it. Come to be involved in exciting outreach, building on our positive connections with local schools, estates and squares. Come to spread the good news of the gospel to more families and children in our wonderful, diverse neighbourhood.   The post holder will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check with barred list (child workforce) and safeguarding training necessary for the role.
