Gateway Christian Church is formed from two churches called by God to do a ‘new thing’[1] in the East Hampden Park area of Eastbourne.  They combined, selling, or demolishing, their own buildings to create The Gateway Centre, which opened in February 2016.  Our name, ‘Gateway’, comes from Genesis 28:17b, “What an awesome place this is!  It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!”

We aim to be a multi-generational church where people of all ages find a home.  We have a vision to bless our community by demonstrating God's love to all people and by sharing our hope in Jesus Christ with our generation.

The Gateway Centre is an important part of that, seeking to be a Family Community Hub to bless its community in Jesus’ name.  The Centre is open most weekdays with activities, and support, available throughout the week, ranging from those run by Gateway (like Giggles Toddler Group) to others provided by our partners (Foodbank and Fegans for instance).  A good way to get a sense of what happens at The Gateway Centre is to watch this short (3-minute) video: https://youtu.be/35HjpAYkbJI(link is external).
