Christ Church Spitalfields is located in not just one of the most creative, vibrant and multicultural communities in London, but in the world. Facing the City to the West, the students of Whitechapel to the south, Brick Lane and Banglatown to the East and the creative hub of Shoreditch to the North, Christ Church Spitalfields has the vision, positioning and calling to reach the nations.
The building, completed in 1729, is an iconic London landmark designed by leading architect Nicholas Hawksmoor, and has been home to a worshipping community for almost 300 years. However, despite the incredible history, this is a young church with a big future.
As part of the HTB Network, and an Alpha Hub church, we currently have three in person services on Sundays and a growing online community. During the week we meet in over 30 Life groups throughout East London to share real conversation and invest in our spiritual fitness. Our social transformation ministry supports local families and individuals with sustainable food parcels, employment coaching and a homeless shelter.
Working with the Diocese of London and other key partner churches from the HTB network and beyond, our vision is to plant six new churches over the next five years where all our members can thrive, belong in community and impact our City.
