WAM Youth

WAM (We All Matter) Youth is a voluntary organisation based in North Gloucestershire and was founded in 2013 as a small non-profit community organisation to develop youth services around the growing community youth group that its founders were running in a local church. Our tag line is “supporting young people to be confident in their identity and build resilience for life”.

Our charitable objectives are centred around our core value that “we all matter”, that diversity is a gift and we actively seek to be inclusive.  WAM has a Trustee Board of 5 local residents all of whom have or currently volunteer for WAM projects and oversee the leadership and governance of WAM.  The staff team is led by WAM’s CEO and includes a team of 6 Staff who between them also support over 25 volunteers.

Our core belief is that when we truly believe that we matter we treat ourselves and others with the value and worth we all deserve. That is to say if we want to help young people to change their destructive behaviours we have to help them to see themselves in a different way. We work towards this through a variety of projects and services, from mentoring to youth groups to outdoor education, that all prioritise the building of relationships between WAM staff and volunteers and the young people they support. At our recent staff away day we discussed our organisation vision and values and summed up WAM's approach as “Compassionate, committed and hope-filled”.
