Littleover Methodist Church (LMC) is situated in a suburb of Derby and has 120 members. The church has an evangelical ethos, seeks to be led by the Spirit and in 2008 completed a £2m building project. The premises now welcome over 800 visitors a week, and enjoy great opportunities to reach out into the community.  We are looking for intentional ways of providing stepping stones to faith for those using the premises. There are Sunday morning services and regular Sunday evening services. There is a worship band and active team of worship leaders.

The existing staff team is made up of a Minister, Church Centre Manager, Ministry Development Worker, Children and Youth Worker and a Café Manager as well as Cleaning staff.

There are 5 evening fellowship groups, a daytime fellowship group, older folks’ Lunch Club, Sunday morning children and young people’s group, two parent and toddler groups, six uniformed groups and the Café which is open to the community three days a week. We have links with overseas mission and actively support work in the Derby area through Derby City Mission and Derby City Vision and pre Covid we were active in a number of schools.  We enjoy partnership with other churches in the immediate area and the City of Derby.

Covid was a challenging time for LMC, as it was for most churches and the communities surrounding them.  One positive aspect was enabling worship to go online.

Littleover Methodist Church is part of Derby Methodist Circuit which was formed in 2009 and spans the city of Derby with some surrounding suburbs and villages. The Circuit is diverse in its 20 constituent churches with large suburban churches, mid-sized urban churches and small rural congregations. The Circuit is served by a team of ministers and pastors
