InTogether, a presbytery mission initiative which we hope will become a new missional
community.
Our Mission
We exist to enable the inclusion of families with children with Additional Support Needs
(ASN) in Christian communities and wider society.
Our Values
We are committed to operating with honesty, integrity and love in order to develop
inclusive and compassionate relationships that enable growth and mutual support.
Our Vision
Our vision is to provide opportunities for families who have children with ASN to gather and
explore faith, and to further the Kingdom of God by reaching families who currently have
no connection to a Christian faith. Our aim is to collaboratively develop new ways of being
church.
Our Motivation
Our families struggle to attend mainstream social gatherings, including church, as the
needs of the children are not often met.
Our Research Shows:
● Families who have children with ASN are mostly an unchurched or de-churched
community.
● 33% of children in mainstream school have ASN but we do not see many of these
families in our churches.
● Families who have children with ASN have increased levels of stress which results
in poor parental well being, higher rates of relationship breakdown, lower financial
income and more isolation from support
