Broadmead Community Church, located in Northampton, has a rich history dating back to the1930s. Originally established to create a Christian presence in the local area, the church’s vision remains focused on reaching out to the local community with the message and love of Christ.
The church is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds, with some or no
previous church experience; we at heart are evangelicals. We would describe ourselves as
Bible-based and Spirit-led. Our Sunday Gatherings and other occasions have a contemporary feel, with many different people leading worship, hosting and speaking.
We recently went through the process of knocking down our 1930s’ Baptist Chapel to build a Church and Community Centre more fit for purpose and vision.
This has enhanced our focus: we are now very much at the heart of our community with the
activities, groups and projects all aimed at enabling more people of faith or no faith to feel part of the life of the church community.
We are keen to continue to develop this focus, making our faith and church more relevant to those we seek to reach with the love of Jesus.
Children and Youth play an important part in the life of the church and many of the groups and activities are for the under 18s.
Our values are captured in our Three Whys –
the key ingredients of our life together:
In a nutshell, they are our ‘why’- why we do all that we do.
