Warfield Church is an Anglican church. We have an open evangelical tradition, influenced by charismatic theology and practice. We are children of God, loved by our heavenly Father. We know that he gives us abundant life through Jesus Christ, and we’re working in partnership with him and others in the great adventure of putting the world back together. We seek to be led by the Spirit, and to engage with what God says to us through the Bible, in a way which connects with everyday life.
Our purpose is to share the love of Jesus with the world, and we seek to do that by
- Connecting people to Jesus and each other
- Equipping people for their God-given calling
- Releasing people into God’s mission in the world.
As a Christ-like church we want to be
- Adventurous
- Generous
- Accountable
- Collaborative
As part of the wider conversation with the Church of England about the use of the Prayers of Love and Faith (PLF), during the first half of 2024 Warfield Church held several meetings, with speakers from differing viewpoints. Members were also encouraged to share where they were on this topic, with over a hundred submitting statements. The process culminated at a PCC meeting when a majority of the PCC expressed the opinion that they sensed that the mood of the PCC and the church would lean towards the use of the Prayers of Love and Faith. It would be expected that the Children Youth and Families Pastor would honour and work in line with the opinion of the PCC.
We currently meet in three locations on a Sunday morning, and a fourth location once a month when we all meet together.
