We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Communications who will bring strategic leadership, creativity and warmth to the way The Gavins Foundation communicates its mission, values and impact. This is an opportunity to shape how the charity connects with communities, churches, partners and supporters, helping to strengthen its voice across Sheffield and beyond. The successful candidate will be excited by the role of communications used in advancing urban mission and ministry, and will be able to combine professional expertise with a genuine commitment to the Christian ethos at the heart of the organisation.
The Gavins Foundation (TGF) was established in 2016 by the Gavin’s family with the purpose of helping those less fortunate. Over the last 10 years the vision has sharpened to: Advancing the Christian faith and message of Jesus through supporting charitable partners and see them thrive in the locations and areas we are focusing on that have spiritual and societal need.
TGF currently has two arms: TGF International and TGF Net - focussing on the city of Sheffield where the power tools company began and where it’s headquarters are based.
The mission of TGF Net is to augment the Christian charity sector in Sheffield by providing support and resource in the areas of training & equipping, celebrating & connecting and financial partnerships as required.
The mission statement for TGF International is to work with partner agencies and charities to bring about positive change via facilitating Christian works and mercy ministries. To unite Christians in their personal and collective calling, to love those in need with aid and spiritual encouragement.
To inspire Evolution employees, ourselves and other trusted partner charities with what can be accomplished in circumstances that lack financial and physical plenty. These are places that are rich in faith, drive and a desire to do all they can for positive change with fewer resources.
But what do those statements mean TGF do?
We are trying to grow and invest in charitable activity where Evolution have staff: Sheffield, Davonport, Chicago, Shanghai and Bordeaux.
We also have ongoing relationships and projects in Malawi and Uganda through legacy connections and work with YWAM.
In Sheffield we have bold ambitions of supercharging the Christian charity sector through training, support and equipping. Furthermore our network of Eden branded community hubs offer relationship building activities and provide intentional missional opportunity to share the gospel.
In Sheffield the charity operates from both Evolution power tools headquarters in S20 and superb charity offices in Sheffield city centre S1 in collaboration with Together for Sheffield.
We also own and operate a small kingdom property portfolio across South Sheffield.
