Job Description
Gordano Valley Methodist Circuit are seeking to employ a Pastoral and Community Worker to work amongst the older generation (3rd and 4th Age) with the Methodist churches at Nailsea and at West Town in Backwell, 8 miles south of Bristol. This role is a full-time position with a fixed-term contract lasting three years. Role Description
Coordinate and work alongside the Minister and pastoral team in each church to offer pastoral care and spiritual support for the older members of the church family, including visiting at home or in hospital when required.
Attend Tuesday Fellowship at Nailsea and the Welcome Hub at West Town to build relationships and offer a listening ear.
Regularly attend worship in each of the churches, actively building relationships.
Deepen links with the local community and be a visible presence at the groups and activities focusing on the older generation.
To explore possible links with the residential homes in the community.
To explore and develop new ways of engaging with the older members of the church and local community.
