We are delighted to be appointing a brand-new Encounter Team for Salford Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Manchester.   This team will work alongside the Salford Encounter Archdeaconry Lead in supporting, resourcing and encouraging ministry with children, young people and their families in our schools, churches and mission communities.  Recent national funding from the Church Commissioners has enabled us to create these exciting posts which will focus on early years, children’s, and youth ministry along with school chaplaincy and developing young leaders. The Encounter Project's vision is to see nine new inter-generational worshipping communities established across the city. Each one reflecting the unique flavour of its local community. The Transition and Social Media Enabler will initiate and lead a ‘Children and Youth Transitions Outreach’ programme, connected with New Worshipping Communities (NWCs) in the Encounter project, in collaboration with local parishes and schools and the Resource Church at All Saints Hanley, supporting all the Encounter satellites in using social media as a tool for mission and discipleship. They will oversee a part of the children and youth work, both in schools and NWCs, that focuses on the transitional years between primary and secondary education enabling the young people to continue their faith journey.
