Role Purpose The Youth Pastor will build a Spirit-led, community rooted youth ministry that makes Jesus known to young people across Preston. As part of the Diocese of Blackburn’s Ignite Project, the role will help grow a thriving community of young people and create pathways to faith. Through this project, our aim is to increase the number of young people engaged in active discipleship and raise up local leaders within our churches and communities. The Youth Pastor will work with 11–18-year-olds across various church settings, schools, and our Spear employment programme, focusing on outreach, evangelism and discipleship. Further, by investing in relationships and training local volunteers, we aim to embed a sustainable, culturally relevant youth ministry into parish life. The Youth Pastor is an exciting role for an inspirational and enthusiastic leader who feels called to hold, communicate, and implement the vision for youth ministry within the wider church vision. The role ensures that young people are welcomed, discipled and supported as they grow in faith and connection to the church community. The Youth Pastor will be responsible for developing a culture of belonging, spiritual growth and mission among the youth, equipping young people and volunteers for effective ministry. A core part of this vision is our ministry and mission with young people. Having held high value on children and young people’s work for decades, we are currently placed 13th nationally in the Church of England’s figures for weekly attendance of 0s-18s.
