This is your chance to take your practice onboard one of our Ships. Perform preventative maintenance of medical equipment as directed by the Senior Biomedical Technician. Types of equipment on board are: Anesthetic systems, ventilators, CR X-ray, CT, Ultrasound imaging, OR and Ward equipment, YAG lasers and ophthalmic devices, autoclaves, oil-free compressors, dental suites and generators up to 35KVA. May be expected to live off ship in team house and spend approximately 2-3 days per week training local biomedical technicians in local hospitals and the remainder of the time assisting ship biomedical technicians.

The Electricians perform electrical work as assigned by the Chief Electrician for the proper maintenance and repair of the on board electrical equipment. You and your team will be installing new equipment, as well as taking care of the maintenance and repair of existing equipment, including the fire safety panel, our most important system on board. What You Will Contribute: • Maintain and routinely inspect electrical machinery, equipment, distribution, and lighting systems as assigned • Report to Chief Electrician with regards to status of assignments, consumption of spare parts and stores, and any issues that arise

The Mechanic / Fitter is responsible to carry out machinery maintenance and repairs, including mechanical overhaul and repair work on marine engines, pumps, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment and valves, and repairing plumbing system equipment. A job that will take you all over the ship, responding to issues and daily bringing solutions to a diverse range of mechanical issues. • As well as all the above, you will operate hand tools associated with marine engines • Service and fit various machinery components

Working hands-on to deliver inpatient surgical care to our patients, the Ward Nurses work around the clock to see that each and every patient receives the care and attention they deserve. • Administer holistic patient care to assigned patients and expect to care for both adults and children on a 20 bed open ward • Employ recent surgical experience in providing pre- and post-operative care to patients receiving maxillofacial, reconstructive plastic, general, obstetric fistula repair, gynecological or orthopedic surgery. Experience in one of these surgical specialties preferred • Partner with local Day Crew translators to provide culturally sensitive and compassionate care to patients • Coordinate patient care with the specialty Team Leaders, Charge Nurses, Hospitalist Physicians and Surgeons

The Operating Room Nurse takes care of surgical patients coming from the Ward to the Operating Room, going through the intraoperative phase of their hospital stay. The Operating Room Nurse will be expected to circulate, scrub, assist the Surgeon when necessary, and maintain accurate written Operating Room documentation. You will participates in preparing the Operating Room, setting-up for surgeries, and cleaning postoperatively. What You Will Contribute • Document nursing care • Assist in setting up and performing in surgical procedures • Providing a surgically clean environment for patient care • Circulate, scrub, assist if needed for different specialties and surgical procedures • Maintain a safe environment for the patient

The Crew Nurse coordinates healthcare for our volunteer Crew and our local Day Crew. You will support the Crew Physician and oversee the work of the Crew Clinic Administrative Assistant in establishing and maintaining a well-functioning Crew Clinic, supporting our volunteers with the best possible care when needed. What You Will Contribute • Arrange appointments for Crew who are ill or need exams or check-ups • Maintain accurate Crew health records and adequate stock levels of supplies • Maintain universal precautions at all times • Record, track and administer immunisations of incoming and current longer term Crew • Facilitate tuberculosis screenings for Crew and Day Crew • Give regular health talks to inform Crew about Crew Clinic services and common illnesses and risks • Assist with the Duty Nurse roster to provide after-hour coverage for Crew when the Crew Clinic and Hospital are closed • Identify and facilitate maintenance of all non-marine first-aid kits on...
