We are delighted to be appointing a brand-new Encounter Team for Salford Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Manchester. This team will work alongside the Salford Encounter Archdeaconry Lead in supporting, resourcing and encouraging ministry with children, young people and their families in our schools, churches and mission communities. Recent national funding from the Church Commissioners has enabled us to create these exciting posts which will focus on early years, children’s, and youth ministry along with school chaplaincy and developing young leaders.
EARLY YEARS WORKER
Are you passionate about helping our youngest children discover faith, belonging and joy? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Worker to help shape vibrant, creative ministry for 0–5s and their families across the Salford Archdeaconry. In this exciting role, you’ll support and resource churches and mission communities as they develop distinctively Christian toddler groups, fresh expressions of worship, and strong links with local Early Years staff in schools. You’ll also champion best practice, explore new ideas, and help nurture outdoor and innovative worship experiences. Are you passionate about helping children grow in faith and flourish? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Children’s Worker to join our Salford Encounter Archdeaconry Team and play a key role in nurturing vibrant, creative and mission‑shaped ministry for 5–11s across the area. In this exciting role, you’ll develop, support and resource Children’s Ministry in line with our diocesan vision to see more young active disciples and ensure thriving CYP ministry within reach of every child. You’ll help churches grow and enrich their ministry by resourcing and inspiring existing children’s work, supporting new initiatives and distinctly Christian groups for 5–11s, fuelling fresh expressions of worship such as Messy Church and Forest Church, strengthening connections between primary schools and churches through meaningful Year 6 transition events, and championing best practice through ongoing learning and current research.If you’re creative, faith‑filled, and excited about shaping children’s ministry across Salford, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for a dynamic Youth Worker to join the Salford Archdeaconry Team and help grow a vibrant, visionary Youth Ministry that reaches every young person. In this exciting role, you’ll champion and strengthen youth ministry across churches, spark new Christian groups and fresh expressions of worship for 11–18s, resource creative initiatives ranging from Youth Sacred Spaces to outdoor worship, collaborate with schools to support key transition moments for pupils, and work alongside clergy, leaders, and the Diocesan Youth Officer to shape transformational opportunities for young people. The Salford Archdeaconry Team is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and committed leader to help shape chaplaincy across our primary and secondary schools — and inspire the next generation of young leaders. In this dynamic role, you’ll support and resource school chaplaincy, equip clergy and church teams, and develop engaging opportunities for young people to step into leadership.
You’ll also play a key part in delivering exciting diocesan initiatives such as the Equip Young Leaders Conference and Deeper Year Out.
