Youth Hub Lead

£32,000 - £35,000 yearly

Job Description

Youth Hub Lead

Washington Youth Hub (Tyne & Wear)
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
Full-Time | 3-Year Fixed Term (initially)

An exciting opportunity to shape youth mission across a whole town

Are you passionate about seeing young people encounter Jesus, grow as disciples, and find a place to belong in the local church?

We are looking for an inspiring and strategic Youth Hub Lead to pioneer and develop the Washington Youth Hub — a collaborative initiative between three local churches:

  • Hope Family Church, Washington

  • Holy Trinity, Washington Village

  • St George’s, Fatfield

Together, we are stepping into a bold vision to engage young people across all four comprehensive schools in Washington, build on strong existing relationships with other schools in the area, and explore future opportunities beyond.

About the Role

This is not a typical youth worker role.

As Youth Hub Lead, you will:

  • Build and lead a Hub & Spoke model of youth engagement, connecting schools, community, and church

  • Develop mentoring, pastoral support, and student leadership pathways in local schools

  • Create clear discipleship journeys from first contact through to active church participation

  • Equip and release young people as leaders in their schools and communities

  • Work collaboratively across three churches, bringing unity, vision, and momentum

 You will be supported by:

  • A growing team of trained volunteers

  • A UK–USA mission intern and teams

  • Strong partnerships with local schools

  • The use of the Ten10 Bus for outreach and engagement

  • A committed and prayerful multi-church steering group

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • passionate follower of Jesus, committed to discipling young people

  • An excellent relationship builder, able to connect with schools, churches, and young people

  • confident leader and communicator, with experience in youth ministry or a related field

  • self-starter, able to pioneer, organise, and sustain new initiatives

  • team player, excited about working across church traditions in a collaborative environment

Experience in mentoring, schools work, youth leadership development, or mission is highly desirable.

What You’ll See Happen

Through this role, you will help:

  • Engage hundreds of young people across Washington

  • Establish sustainable mentoring and discipleship pathways

  • Raise a generation of young leaders

  • See young people connected into Hope Family Church, Holy Trinity, and St George’s

  • Build something that no single church could achieve alone

Why This Role Matters

This is a rare opportunity to:

  • Shape youth mission across a whole town

  • Work at the intersection of church, school, and community

  • Pioneer something innovative, collaborative, and deeply impactful

  • Be part of a vision that is both strategic and Spirit-led
