With a vision for G.R.O.W.T.H, we are looking for an enthusiastic, relational and creative Youth and Children’s Worker to build on a strong existing foundation and help shape the next chapter of this vital ministry. This is an exciting opportunity to invest in children, young people and families within the church and wider community, developing schools work alongside our existing midweek community-focused children’s groups and Sunday junior church programme.
We are looking for someone with relevant training and experience who will:
· bring imagination, energy and innovation to this ministry area in response to the developing needs of our church and local community;
· help envision, equip and grow our team of volunteers;
· mentor young people and children as an authentic Christian role model, both within and beyond the church;
· bring strong organisation, communication and IT skills; and
· actively participate in the life of the church, with a passion to further the kingdom of God.
We are a mid-size, multi-generational church in the Hertfordshire town of Tring, with a prominent place in the local community and a wide range of activity throughout the week. As the first Baptist church in the UK to achieve a Gold Eco-Church award through the A Rocha scheme, we have a strong commitment to holistic, whole-life discipleship and to being a church that is welcoming and accessible to all.
There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a Christian as permitted under the Equality Act 2010.
If you would like an informal conversation about the role, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please email admin@tringbaptistchurch.co.uk.
Please send your CV, covering letter and additional information form (which can be found at https://tringbaptistchurch.co.uk/job-opportunities/) to Catherine Rowland (Church Secretary) at admin@tringbaptistchurch.co.uk
Initial Closing date: Monday 29th June 2026
Interviews will be scheduled for Friday 10th July 2026.
High Street Baptist Church has a prominent position on Tring High Street and is an active part of the community. Although a place of worship on Sunday mornings, we strongly believe that ‘church’ is not just for Sunday. We are concerned about making the Christian faith understandable and relevant to all.
The long-term vision at High Street Baptist Church is for GROWTH: Growth, Relationship, Outreach, Worship, Transformation, Hope. Our objective is to grow both spiritually and numerically as we take the reality of faith with us in our whole-life discipleship, exploring new ways of being church – at home, at work and leisure, through witness, mission and social action. We are a Arocha Gold Eco Church, and also prioritise accessibility and disability awareness in all the activities that we do.
On Sundays we are a multigenerational congregation with children and young people aged 0-16 who regularly attend our Junior Church, (a number of these have additional needs). We run an established Youth Group which meets on a Monday evening, as well as thriving midweek toddler and baby groups. We have links with local schools and are involved with a number of community events across the year.
