Job Description

Greater Europe Mission (GEM) is a Christian missions organization committed to seeing Europe transformed by multiplying disciples and growing Christ's Church. Through partnerships with ministries and churches, GEM equips and sends workers to build relationships, share the Gospel, and make disciples in their everyday lives to transform Europe.

POSITION SUMMARY:  
The International Recruitment Director leads and strengthens recruitment efforts across Europe by both creating new initiatives and equipping others to recruit effectively within their own contexts.

At its core, this is a builder role. The Director develops the strategies, structures, and culture that strengthen recruitment across GEM and expand ownership beyond a single centralized function.

This role may be expressed through relational leadership, systems thinking, or a combination of both. In every case, the Director helps workers, leaders, churches, and networks across Europe participate more actively in recruitment.

Working closely with Sending Entities, local leaders, and the International Personnel Team, the Director strengthens partnerships, supports a healthy pipeline of workers, and fosters a culture of invitation.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and alignment of recruitment strategies across Europe
  • Ensure recruitment efforts are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with organizational priorities
  • Cultivate relationships with churches, organizations, networks, Sending Entities, and other partners to support the identification and sending of workers
  • Initiate, lead, and support recruitment activities such as events, campaigns, and presentations
  • Equip GEM workers, leaders, and partners with the tools, training, and encouragement to engage in recruitment within their own contexts
  • Work closely with the International Personnel Team to align recruitment with onboarding, placement, and long-term service pathways
  • Ensure strong communication and collaboration across departments and regions


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILILITES:
This position is responsible to intentionally lead, develop, and care for the following positions

  • LAUNCH Director (mid-term service programs)
  • Short Term Service (currently GEM Teams) 
  • Regional Mobilizers (as applicable)

Ensure coordination across recruitment efforts and develop leaders who can increase recruitment capacity across Europe

  • Skills and experience in leading multicultural teams


TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 
This is a full-time position. 

TRAVEL: 

This position requires travel across Europe (approximately up to 45 days per year)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (EQF Level 6) or equivalent professional qualification or relevant experience 
  • A combination of education, vocational training, and professional experience will be considered
  • Experience in recruitment, ministry development, or related field preferred 
  • Experience working across cultures and within European contexts is highly valued 
  • Experience in fundraising in Europe is helpful but not required
  • Fluency in English required; additional European languages are an asset
