Do you have a heart for bringing Christ’s love into everyday life, workplaces, and the heart of the town? Taunton Team Chaplaincy is seeking a passionate and prayerful Lead Chaplain to guide and grow this well-established Christian ministry.
Taunton Team Chaplaincy serves the people, businesses, and public spaces of Taunton through a visible, caring chaplaincy presence. Our mainly lay team of nearly 40 dedicated volunteers is drawn from local churches and is based in the Market House in the town centre. Together, we offer pastoral care, a listening ear, and the hope of the gospel to employees, shoppers, and members of the public alike.
We currently provide dedicated chaplaincy support to seven facets of the community – Offices and organisations, Care Homes, The Railway, the Marginalised, Open Spaces, Retailers and the Magistrates Courts. Chaplains are also regularly approached by members of the public seeking conversation, prayer, or support.
Under the oversight of the Trustees, the Lead Chaplain will have responsibility for inspiring, training, supporting, and leading the chaplaincy team, as well as developing relationships with businesses and civic partners. We are looking for a committed Christian with proven pastoral and evangelistic experience, confidence in engaging at senior levels in business and local government, and a genuine enthusiasm for team-building and the growth of this ministry.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop Christian outreach at the heart of the town. The trustees welcome expressions of interest to discuss the appointment and explore the remuneration which will be based on a recognised salary for Christian ministry.
