Refuge Practitioner

💰£14.50 - £18.00 ( dependent on pay status)
🕒 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Main Purpose
To provide practical, emotional, and developmental support to women and children affected by domestic abuse, ensuring a safe and supportive refuge environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate refuge services to ensure effective day-to-day running
Deliver support across refuge and dispersed accommodation
Manage referrals, admissions, and support planning
Maintain accurate, confidential records and monitoring data
Facilitate house meetings and support children’s development
Liaise with external agencies and represent residents where appropriate
Contribute to service development, training, and policy implementation
Support volunteers and colleagues
Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, and health & safety standards are upheld
Essential Requirements
Experience working with vulnerable adults and children
Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact
Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
Ability to assess needs and provide tailored support
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and equality
Additional Requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
