Hub Leader – Complex Needs We are working with an independent charity on the lookout for a Hub Leader to join their team in Birmingham. This is a brilliant opportunity to join an incredible company within a fantastic team, making a real difference. This Hub Leader is a pivotal role, leading a hub that delivers high-quality, person-centred services for individuals with complex needs. You do this by creating opportunities for every member of the hub — both the people they support and the staff — unlocking potential, enhancing wellbeing, and enabling meaningful, fulfilling experiences every day. The role has two main objectives: * To have line management responsibility of your team * To ensure the service they deliver is of the highest quality, whilst ensuring the wellbeing of all those who work and attend are met in a personalised way Key Responsibilities: Leading a team: * To lead your team with confidence and optimism ensuring they are supported whilst working within policy and procedure. This will include supervision, absence management, learning and development to name a few. * To assist your team in managing the day-to-day service provided to those who they support. Ensuring their needs are met in a safe and personalised setting in accordance with policies and procedures. * To take ownership of key tasks, be solution focused and ensure the team know what needs to be done to deliver an effective service for the people they support * Induct new members into your team and ensure they have a good understanding of the mission and vision by living the charity values day to day * Respond promptly to any staffing issues, managing the situation professionally and ensuring continuity of service delivery * Know the training needs within your hub and work with the service managers to ensure 100% compliance Service Quality & Safety: * To work closely with the Service Manager, Deputy and team to ensure a quality and safe service is always provided * To have an overall insight into the care provision being provided in your Hub and ensure the care planning systems are of a high standard * Be the pivotal advocate in annual reviews of everyone supported within your Hub * To supervise and audit the quality of the service being delivered within your hub and the department * Work collaboratively with the Personalisation team to ensure meaningful and personalised activities are undertaken in your Hub and across the service * Carry out audits of the service being delivered within your team * Lead by example proactively supporting Hub team to deliver person centred care mentoring and coaching them to practice day to day person centred practical skills * Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to undertake needs assessments of current and potential individuals we support whilst undertaking reviews and ensuring support plans are as up to date as possible * Support and lead your team to work with professionals outside of the organisation to ensure the health and well-being of the people they support are always met * Proactively manage risk within your team ensuring risk management plans and assessments are continuously implemented, reviewed and updated * Additional responsibilities may be assigned by your line manager as required, in line with the evolving needs of the role and the organisation Key Requirements & Skills This position requires a passionate and caring team member who will come to work each day and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to create opportunities so that the people they support feel empowered to embrace life and unlock their potential. Essential: - Level 4 and above Health and Social Care qualification - Enhanced DBS required - Previous experience of working with individuals with complex needs - Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and manage staff and volunteers effectively - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders including families, social services and health professionals - Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations applicable to care environments - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same - Kind, caring and able to see things from the perspective of the people they support and colleagues - Passionate about supporting people to embrace life and achieve their potential - Experience of person-centred planning that translates into personalised support - Demonstrate experience in delivering staff training and mentoring in areas of but not limited to, manual handling - Physically able to support people who use a wheelchair and undertake manual handling tasks if required - Be willing to learn and use communication techniques - Have a standard of English which enables clear and accurate recording Desirable: - Ability to lead and manage change effectively - Experience with those who communicate via other means other than verbal such as Makaton, PEC’s and electronic communication aids - Experience in staff development, including delivering training sessions By applying for this position, you authorise Auctoro Recruitment to hold your personal details on file for use in finding you a suitable position.
