Women & Girls Mentor Advocate (Part Time 21h)

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of an award-winning women-only charity for Young Women & Girls Mentor Advocates to join their specialist service supporting vulnerable young women aged 13–25. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support worker, mentor, advocate or youth practitioner looking to work within a trauma-informed, strengths-based service that empowers young women to overcome significant challenges and achieve positive outcomes. You'll provide intensive one-to-one support to young women at risk of exploitation, violence, gang involvement or contact with the criminal justice system, helping them build confidence, improve safety and access the services they need to move forward. The Role Working as part of a specialist team, you'll manage a small caseload and provide holistic, person-centred support through a combination of outreach work and appointments within women's centres across London. Your responsibilities will include: * Building positive, trusting relationships with young women aged 13–25. * Delivering trauma-informed, strengths-based mentoring and advocacy. * Supporting young women to increase safety and reduce risk. * Completing risk and needs assessments and developing support plans. * Working alongside partner agencies including social care, youth offending teams, education, health services and the police. * Supporting young women affected by exploitation, abuse, violence or criminal justice involvement. * Promoting healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing and independence. * Maintaining accurate case records and contributing to safeguarding processes. Ideally you will have experience of; Supporting vulnerable young people ages 13-25, working within safeguarding procedures, completing risk assessments and support planning, advocacy or case management. Important Information This role is open to female applicants only, as being female is considered a Genuine Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010). Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and Right to Work checks. This position is initially a 6 month contract, working 3 days a week - either Monday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Friday - currently we have 2x positions available.
