Role:               Independent Gender Violence Advocate Based:           Waltham Cross Salary:            £15.50ph PAYE or £20 ph UMB Start Date:     ASAP Duration:       Temp for 3 months (potential extension) Hours:           35 hours per week – 1 day from Waltham Cross and 4 days from home and out in the community if required Our client, a well-respected domestic abuse charity is looking to recruit an IGVA for their new Mimram service the successful applicant will work with domestic abuse victim/survivors of all risk levels - including high -; stalking victim/survivors, including non-DA stalking; and sexual abuse/violence victim/survivors. The role does not require specific experience of working with sexual violence clients but does need experience and confidence supporting high risk DA/stalking clients, including attending and providing input in MARAC. Essential requirements Experience of working with vulnerable groups. Experience of managing a caseload Experience of recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework. Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact it has on victims and their children.
