Come and be part of something special
The Lee Abbey Tea Cottage is a much treasured place, serving cream teas, cakes, drinks and ice cream, with a smile. The Tea Cottage is set in a beautiful garden surrounded by trees, flowers, birdsong, with the sea right behind, and a stream flowing through.
We have an exciting opportunity for two people to join the Tea Cottage Team during the 2027 season. When the Tea Cottage closes for the winter, there will also be opportunities to serve with our Kitchen or House Team, giving you the chance to experience different aspects of life at Lee Abbey.
We are looking for people who are passionate about facilitating a place of encounter and extending God’s welcome and hospitality to all who visit. The role involves serving guests, taking orders, using the till, making drinks, baking and cleaning.
As a member of the community, you will also take an active role in the worship, creative and serving aspects of community life, and have the opportunity to explore and use your God-given gifts.
The position is for one year and is residential with an allowance, accommodation, and full board. We take people at any point throughout the year but would be looking for a potential start date of anything from November 2026 to February 2027 so that you arrive before the Tea Cottage season opens.

Lee Abbey Devon is home to a vibrant international Christian community. We host Christian retreats, conferences and holidays. Lee Abbey welcomes people and serves churches with the vision of people encountering Jesus Christ so that lives, relationships and communities are transformed.
Have you got a passion to serve? Do you want to be part of a community of Christians from many nations around the world, who encourage each other to put Christ at the centre and to live out the gospel in down-to-earth ways?
Being on Community is about living, working, serving and worshipping closely together, being open to being known for who we are. It’s challenging but great fun too, and if you let it, it can be life-changing.
