We are hiring a Youth Worker who will develop, lead, and nurture the faith of young people across Burghfield and Mortimer villages. Mortimer and Burghfield Methodist Churches have growing numbers of young people in their congregations. At Mortimer four teenagers and six primary school aged children regularly worship, and at Burghfield eight teenagers and 12 primary school aged children are present most Sundays. Beyond Sunday worship, the secondary school aged children attend a fortnightly Sunday evening youth club, along with another dozen young people from a neighbouring church. An additional mid-week group is being set up, and a Bible study for the older young people (16+ ) is running this summer – shared with a third local free church.
