Divisional Youth Worker

£34,910 - £39,180 yearly

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support the mission of The Salvation Army by providing knowledge and expertise in the development and delivery of the divisional youth work strategy. 

The role will involve developing the current youth programme, as well as working alongside local leaders to grow new initiatives in accordance to local needs. Ensuring best fit with existing youth ministry to extend the mission of The Salvation Army by increasing the full participation of young people through effective discipleship, leadership and mission.

Are you…

  • A committed and practicing Christian, ideally with knowledge of The Salvation Army?
  • An experienced youth professional with working knowledge of youth work values, professional practices and a range of styles and models?
  • Are you able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends and travel within the area of Sussex, Kent & Surrey Borders?

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant experience, knowledge and skills in youth ministry.
  • Strong people and communication skills, using a range of styles including digital and social media.
  • Ability to be adaptable, flexible, think critically and creatively and work on your own initiative without direct supervision.
  • Awareness of and ability to work within Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies.
  • Full driving licence.

This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
