Role Summary:

We are looking for someone who loves God and His word and is passionate about discipling youth and young adults to live missionally and participate in cross-cultural mission. The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated mature Christian with leadership acumen and experience working with and developing relationships with youth and young adults. They must be a highly competent communicator utilising PowerPoint and social media with good organisational skills.

One Mission Society (OMS) is an international, interdenominational mission dedicated to multiplying disciples, churches, leaders and missionaries. Occupational Requirement: The nature and context of the role require that it is carried out by a Christian in agreement with the OMS Statement of Faith.

 

Hours: Negotiable, between 3 - 5 days per week.

 

Salary: £30,000 for 37.5 hours (pro rata for part-time) which includes some evening and weekend work.

 

Term: 3-year fixed-term contract (with potential for the role to be extended or made permanent).

Mission: Mobilise/disciple youth and young adults to live missionally and participate in cross-cultural mission.

 

THIS EXCITING STRATEGIC ROLE PRESENTS OPPORTUNITIES FOR TRAVEL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

 

This job description is not intended to be restrictive or definitive and it is important to note that the responsibilities of the role may change to meet the evolving needs of OMS(UK).

 

Key Objectives:

1.      Engage, envision, empower and equip youth and young adults to live missionally (stewarding their time, treasure and talent) and participate in God's mission cross-culturally.

2.      Create and/or promote opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, bible teaching and training around mission.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.     Prayerfully develop a 3-year Strategic Plan in consultation with the Executive Director and others (within first three months).

2.     Develop Activity Plans annually in consultation with the Executive Director and others.

3.      Develop and lead a team (including staff and volunteers) investing in youth and young adults.

4.     Identify mission partners to host Explore teams and Embark candidates (this may involve visiting these locations to build relationships and gain first-hand experience/exposure).

5.     Invest in youth and young adults, developing relationships, providing opportunities for missional engagement, both locally and globally.

6.     Utilise or develop relevant materials for the discipling of youth and young adults (includes utilising social media platforms, podcasting etc).

7.      Organise events, mission trips and internships to expose youth and young adults to missional opportunities.

8.     Nurture strategic partnership with para-church organisations, churches and OMS supporters (including prayer support).

9.     Teach Biblical foundations for mission as opportunities arise. 1o. Promote the global work of OMS.

 

Other Responsibilities

1.     Participate in monthly planning/review meetings with Executive Director.

2.     Participate in staff meetings and alongside other staff members (including the organising of annual/special events).

3.     Prepare and submit material for the OMS Focus Magazine, Prayer Diary and other collateral, as required.

4.     Harness the potential of Christian festivals, conferences and conventions.

5.     Raise funds for youth and young adult initiatives, travel and OMS ministries.

6.     Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed.
