Outreach Worker - Domestic Abuse Location: Coventry Salary: £26,423 per annum Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm Contract: Permanent Positions Available: 2 RSR is a public safety & enterprise security recruitment specialist. Make a Difference Every Day We are looking for two dedicated Outreach Workers to join a specialist domestic abuse support service in Coventry. This is an opportunity to provide high-quality, specialist and proactive support to women and children affected by domestic abuse. You will manage your own caseload, provide one-to-one support and advocacy, and work closely with community and statutory services to help women access the support they need. The role will involve working within the community, developing relationships with partner organisations and helping to improve access to domestic abuse services. Key Responsibilities Support & Casework Provide high-quality casework, one-to-one support and advice to women who are or have experienced domestic abuse. Undertake regular risk and needs assessments and develop appropriate safety plans. Develop, implement and regularly review Individual Support Plans (ISPs) with service users. Provide practical, emotional and advocacy support. Identify individual needs and make appropriate referrals to specialist agencies and services. Support women to access statutory, voluntary and community services. Facilitate access to wider specialist services. Encourage the development of positive mutual support networks. Provide group work and support sessions for victims and survivors. Develop appropriate communication methods to meet the needs of individual service users. Community Outreach & Development Identify and develop support strategies that meet the needs of women and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse. Lead on referrals into the community team and help develop effective support pathways. Build links with existing projects, community organisations and statutory services. Develop partnership working and joint services where appropriate. Identify opportunities to improve access to support within the community, including drop-ins and outreach surgeries. Support workshops, group work and training for professionals, community groups and individuals to improve understanding of domestic abuse and identification of victims. Participate in multi-agency meetings and partnership working. Work alongside volunteers and community champions to enhance support available to women and children. Promote awareness of domestic abuse and the support services available. Administration & Monitoring Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all service users. Record casework and service user information using relevant systems. Ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation procedures are followed. Produce regular reports and statistical information. Collect and use service user feedback to help evaluate and improve the service. Maintain appropriate health and safety records. Work within organisational administrative and financial procedures. Communication & Partnership Working Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues and external agencies. Attend meetings, training and conferences relevant to the role. Work closely with internal teams to develop appropriate services for women and children. Share relevant information from external meetings and training with colleagues and management. Attend regular supervision and support sessions. Contribute to the organisation's annual review process. About You We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse and who can provide a professional, empathetic and empowering service. You will ideally have experience of working with victims/survivors of domestic abuse or within a related support, safeguarding, housing, social care or community setting. Essential Experience & Skills Experience of providing one-to-one support or casework to vulnerable individuals. Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children. Experience undertaking risk and needs assessments and safety planning. Experience developing and reviewing support plans. Strong advocacy and communication skills. Ability to build effective relationships with service users and external agencies. Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality. Ability to work independently, manage a caseload and prioritise your workload. Experience working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies. Good written, verbal and IT skills. Commitment to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice. Desirable Experience working specifically within a domestic abuse service. Experience of community outreach or community-based support. Experience of facilitating workshops or group work. Knowledge of local statutory and voluntary sector services.
