Role:                  NRPF IDVA Based:              Southall, with up to 2 days WFH Rate:                  £15.50ph PAYE or £20ph umb Start Date:        Immediately Duration:          Temp ongoing Hours:              Full-Time, 35 hours per week Our client is looking for an experienced NRPF IDVA to join their specialist team supporting Black and minoritised women and children experiencing domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG). Synopsis of duties: To provide trauma-informed information, advice, support, and advocacy services for victims of domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence, including forced marriage, rape and sexual abuse, so-called honour crimes, and related issues such as immigration, asylum, and No Recourse to Public Funds. To assist women to access support under various destitution schemes, including the  No Recourse Fund. To promote social inclusion, encourage independence, and develop the personal resilience of women using the advocacy service. To ensure women are referred to external advice, information, and support agencies as appropriate, and encourage engagement with a range of services. To ensure the service user is at the heart of all service delivery and development. To liaise with relevant professionals and statutory agencies as necessary. To undertake risk assessments and participate in local Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs). To adhere to  policies and procedures and ensure awareness and integration of an equalities and human rights agenda in all areas of work. To provide verbal and written reports to Senior Managers, the Executive Director and Management Committee as necessary. To work towards registration with the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) as a competent adviser, undertaking relevant training and tests. To contribute to and assist with the delivery of training to relevant professionals, statutory and community organisations. To actively contribute to the organisation’s cohesion, encouraging cross-team working and problem-solving approaches. To attend team meetings, supervision, appraisal and other meetings as required.Essential Requirements: Experience working with victim-survivors of domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG Experience providing advice, advocacy or casework to Black, minoritised and migrant women across multiple channels, including telephone, email and face-to-face, within a fast-paced environment Experience providing non-judgemental and confidential support to women and enabling them to set realistic goals Understanding of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing Black, minoritised and migrant women affected by VAWG Knowledge of survivor support options, including safe housing, immigration/asylum routes, criminal justice and civil remedies Knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults Ability to manage a caseload, prioritise workload and meet deadlines Ability to speak a South Asian language, or Arabic, Kurdish, Pashto, Dari, Somali or Tigrinya DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update servicePlease note: This vacancy is open to Black and minoritised women only, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, due to the nature of the role and the work of the organisation.
