Ministry Enablement Worker

£27,000 - £31,000 FTE
(salary and provision of housing to be negotiated)

Hours of contract:
minimum 20 hours / week, up to 30 hours (to be negotiated)

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
General:
The role will focus on enabling and building up various ministry teams.
It will involve working as a member of the Church’s staff team and with relevant
voluntary ministry leads and teams.
Specific:
1. Support the Vicar and Ministry Team in the planning, resourcing and
implementing Sunday and any weekday church services.
2. Work with the Vicar and relevant volunteer teams to develop existing
church ministries, including but not restricted to:
• Sunday activities for children and youth
• First Steps for parents/carers and toddlers
• Dad’s Breakfast for Dads and children
• Links with schools, including assemblies and special services
• Home Groups – approximately 10
• Services for residents in a local nursing home, Field Lodge.
13. 4. Work with the Vicar and Ministry Team to source and develop relevant
training programmes for our various ministry teams.
Work with the Vicar in reaching out to the parish with a particular focus
on families and young people.
5. Plan, organise and coordinate specific church led community events for
example Easter Fair; Dads’ Camping; Summer Holiday activities.
6. Provide skills and support to assist the Vicar and Parish Operations
Manager in the day to day activities of running the church and parish
centre, for example IT support and managing church social media.
Person Specification
Essential
• A personal faith in Jesus Christ underpinning a lifestyle of integrity;
the postholder must agree and assent to the CPAS Basis of Faith
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills to enable others to
grow and develop in their faith and ministry
• Good organisational skills to use time well to manage different tasks
and a variable workload
• Flexibility in working arrangements including working evenings,
Saturdays and Sundays as required
• IT skills – can use word, excel, PowerPoint and manage and develop the
church’s use of social media.
Desirable
• Theological or ministry training
• IT skills – ChurchSuite, Pro-presenter
• Previous experience of employment in church ministry.
Occupational Requirements
This post carries an occupational requirement on the grounds of religion and
belief. Candidates applying must be able to demonstrate a Christian belief and
value system in line with the Church of England
Eligibility to Work in the UK
The post holder must be able to provide evidence of their eligibility to work in
the UK prior to appointment and for the entire duration of employment.
DBS Clearance
The post holder will be asked to complete an Enhanced DBS with Children’s
Barred List Check and provide 2 names from whom references can be requested.
