Help keep Capernwray running safely and well
Students, holiday guests, volunteers and staff all share our site throughout the year. For that to work, the calendar has to hold together, risk assessments have to be current, new staff need checks in place, and the Wi-Fi has to work when the teaching starts. We’re looking for someone to lead that work.
About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll oversee:
- Administration: Calendar, reception, transport, holiday bookings and health records
- Health & Safety: Policies, risk assessments, training and incidents, handled in a proportionate way
- HR: Recruitment, onboarding, contracts, leave and appraisals, with support from BrightHR
- IT and AV: Line managing a small team led day-to-day by our IT Lead
You’ll manage the Reception, IT/AV and Holidays Administration staff. You’ll also co-lead a student Family Group and take part in community life.
You’ll bring
- A practicing Christian faith
- An excellent administrator, able to organise multiple activities, processes and priorities accurately and reliably
- Practical experience in Health & Safety and HR
- Experience managing staff, including technical specialists
- Calm judgement and clear communication

Capernwray offers short-term Bible courses and a range of Christian holidays for all ages throughout the year. Nestled in the beautiful countryside in the North of England, Capernwray is a perfect place to study, relax and grow spiritually. Over the last 75 years the ministry has spread to every continent across 24 different Torchbearer centres.
Capernwray accommodates up to 180 students or 200 guests. There are approximately 40 full and part time staff and a significant number of voluntary staff serving throughout the year. The international perspective of Capernwray is evidenced by the large number of overseas staff, guests and students.
